It's official ladies and gentlemen:

Dragon Quest VIII is the Big D's best game of 2005.

Last year, we had GTA San Andreas steal it from Metroid Prime 2, Halo 2, Burnout 3, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Half-Life 2.





This year, Dragon Quest VIII has trampled over everybody, including strong runner ups like Star Wars Battlefront II, Age of Empires 3, Shadow of the Colossus, and Soul Calibur 3.



Dragon Quest VIII is without a doubt the best RPG I have played since Xenogears. The incredibly entertaining and lively characters, the incredible powers, immense world (Bigger than San Andreas), and unforgettable cast of monsters have all stolen my heart, and shit I knew it was gonna be good BEFORE I even bought the shit. My history with the Dragon Quest Series goes a long way to the NES and my journey with Dragon Warrior in the late 80s, and I'm happy that it has gone full circle. Yuji Horii and Akira Toriyama deliver greatness, for the eighth time, something not even Final Fantasy can claim (play 8 or 10 and see if you agree). Go out and buy a copy of this game now if you consider yourself even REMOTELY a gamer.
